Meet the Team

Graeme is one of the two founders of Realm having set up the business in 2001.

A QS by profession he has been involved in delivering high quality projects for over thirty years across a range of sectors. He protects the company’s reputation for quality, on time delivery and fair play and particularly enjoys the challenge of hitting tight deadlines and seeing a job well done.

He likes to travel and enjoys a good quality single malt!

Jonathan started as an apprentice bench joiner with Realm in 2008 and after completing his apprenticeship he worked as a site joiner and site supervisor before recently starting his new role in the company’s setting out department.

Away from Realm, you will find Jonathan seeking the perfect road whilst out motorcycling with friends or challenging himself in the gym.

Having left school in 2011 to go to college to study games/media for two years, Mihalis didn’t enjoy his college course as much as he would of hoped, but having always had an eye for design and a being a wiz on a computer Mihalis joined a local joinery firm for five years that helped him progress into the manufacturing industry. Whilst there he (with some guidance) self-taught himself AutoCAD & Google Sketch Up, working on jobs for MAC, Nisa, Spar and various other clients.

In his spare time he enjoys chilling out with his friends & family. When he gets chance uploading music to his YouTube channel that has over 250,000+ subscribers. Also playing 5 & 7 a side football and watching/supporting Fulham (someone has to) when they play.

Roger has over 30 years’ experience within the construction industry, having originally started works as an apprentice joiner, attending West Nottinghamshire College and gaining 3 distinctions for carpentry & Joinery.

Roger joined Realm in 2011 as an estimator for our bespoke joinery, main contracting and commercial fit-out sector. The estimating role provides many challenges from initial concept through to final development of the project.  Roger strives to achieve complete understanding of the designers and architects’ brief to ensure the end product exceeds all client expectations and falls within a reasonable budget.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with his family, family holidays, travelling, walking, biking, watching and playing football & golf.  He is a regular participant at 5-a-side football.

Mark has many years’ experience in shop-fitting having joined the industry straight from school. After completing his City and Guilds and Advanced Craft in carpentry and joinery Mark has held various roles from bench joiner to project manager. He is now a member of the setting out department working extensively in Autocad.

Out of work Mark enjoys spending time with his family, walking and numerous sports.

Sam Hickling is an apprentice quantity surveyor, having attained his A-levels in history, chemistry and biology, before joining Realm Projects in September 2019. As part of his apprentiship he is currently studying at Nottingham Trent University and in a few years will become a fully qualified and charted quantity surveyor.

Away from work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, cycling, traveling and hiking, having recently hiked the 100 mile south downs way.

Rebecca is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has over 15 years post qualification experience.  She has worked mainly in the Construction and Manufacturing industries.

Andy has been in the industry for over 30 years and is a time served joiner with bench and site experience.

He has attained City & Guilds & Advanced Craft accreditation.

Starting off as an apprentice and shop floor joiner, helped him to learn the various aspects involved within the industry, which in turn, helped him to progress through various roles, including; workshop supervisor, production manager, estimator, buyer, project manager, joinery & factory manager

Away from work he has two classic motorcycles, enjoys indoor cycling and over the last five years, getting heavily involved with clay shooting.

Alan has 25 years’ experience in the joinery trade working at Realm for over a decade. Alan is the drawing office manager; in this role he will liaise with clients & design working 3-D Models on Invertor to their specifications. Away from work Alan enjoys cycling & football.

Paul has over 25 years experience in the shop fitting and furniture industry. He is an apprentice trained cabinet maker to an advanced level.

Paul joined Realm  in 2004 as a Bench Joiner, manufacturing and installing joinery items for the Leisure, Retail, Museum and Corporate sectors. In 2011 he took on the role of Production Foreman, processing materials and overseeing projects from machining, through to assembly, spraying and dispatching in a fast track environment to meet deadlines. Recently he has taken on a new challenging role as Logistics Supervisor. This involves managing the movement of goods in and out of the business as well as overseeing the loading/unloading of vehicles and maintaining current stock levels.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with his family, walking his 3 dogs, caravan touring, Airsoft, tinkering with old Land Rovers and marshaling at vintage motorcycle race events.

David is a time served bench Joiner having attained City and guilds craft, Advanced Craft and Institute of Carpenters Qualifications before moving on to do his ONC and HNC in Construction.

During his career he has progressed through various roles including, Workshop Manager, Technical Draughtsman, Estimator, Project Manager, and Director before getting his tools out again and setting up Realm Projects in September 2000. He has worked nationally and internationally initially making his mark on the Euro-tunnel projects in Folkestone and Calais, France in 1992 before moving on to Dubai to fit out three Museums and a prestigious project in Libya.

When not at Realm, David spends his time with his wife and 3 young sons on his Derbyshire farm and is currently  converting a grade two listed Barn.

Having joined Realm in 2008, Steve was initially employed as a CAD setter out, producing working drawings for a wide variety of Realm’s clients throughout the UK and overseas before progressing to Project Manager.  Steve keeps in regular contact with the client team through every stage of a project  to ensure the end result surpasses the clients expectations. Having worked in the shopfitting industry for over 26 years, Steve started his working life ‘on the tools’ as an apprentice in a traditional joiners shop gaining City and Guilds qualifications along the way before continuing with further education gaining an HNC in Building Studies.

Steve likes to spend his time seeing friends and family, walking in the Peak District and camping when the weather allows!

After impressing as a temporary worker, Zoe soon became a permanent member of Rebecca’s administration team. Zoe has many years of experience within administration.

Zoe started work at NatWest Bank as part of the Computer Services Department in London, before moving on to her time in the Electrical Wholesale trade working for Edmundson Electrical in Kent.

Zoe decided to return to Nottinghamshire to be near her family in 2007 and found work at a local Chiropractor.  Here she demonstrated her organisational and administration skills by developing and introducing new procedures and systems.

During her free time Zoe enjoys spending time at the coast with her partner Steve and hopes that they retire there one day.  She believes passionately in the holistic approach to life and learning about the healthy lifestyle that is achievable for everyone through Chiropractic adjustments and healthy natural foods.

Matt has worked in the construction industry for 25 years, managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver new builds, fit-outs and refurbishments on a wide variety of sites.

As an experienced contracts manager, Matt focuses on building strong relationships with stakeholders, turning his clients’ proposals into reality and using various methodologies to deliver excellent outcomes.

With a background in site management, Matt is also skilled at managing sub-contractors and equipment, directing teams of field engineers and overseeing project planning, scheduling, quality control and health and safety. He prioritises strong communication, addressing issues arising on live sites. Matt completes his projects on time and within budget, motivating subcontractors and site teams to deliver each contract to his clients’ specifications.

Mike has a wide range of experience in manufacturing, CAD CAM software and software programming. Starting his career in the workshop, he has worked in bespoke and mass production environments as a cabinet maker, GRP Pattern Maker and Prototyper.

He started his first ‘office’ job in 2005 as a draftsman using 2D AutoCAD. He has since implemented 3D CAD software (Solidworks and Inventor) at 3 different companies, greatly improving efficiency and reducing errors in the CAD office. Mike has also automated the link between CAD and various CNC machines.

Since joining Realm, Mike has automated the production of cutting lists and CNC programs. He has also worked on procuring, setting up and integrating our ERP system into the business.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys cycling, walking, climbing and has two young children to keep him busy.
