Our History
2001
2001 saw the birth of Realm Projects as Graeme Blakey and David Renshaw started trading from a small unit in Mansfield, of just 2,200ft². In May of that year, we completed our very first full fit out – an optician in Solihull.
2002
An encouraging start to the business enabled us to move to a larger 7,000ft² manufacturing facility, which, within months, we extended by a further 4,000ft².
2004
We were in a position to acquire our own two acres of land at Mansfield’s Millennium Business Park. Here, we built a brand new 24,000ft² premises.
2005
We reached a turnover of £3 million and secured Prezzo as a client.
2006
With turnover exceeding £5 million, we established a foothold in the museum sector and as a trusted partner with major retail fitout companies.
2007
We doubled the size of our manufacturing capacity by building an additional 24,000ft² adjacent to the existing facility. This enabled us to re-organise the machine shop to cope with the soaring demand for retail, leisure and museum fit out contracts.
2008
Queen Elizabeth II opened our largest museum project at Whitehaven and turnover reached £6m.
2010
With the UK passing through a period of recession, we retained profitability and secured the Arcadia Group and Chipotle as clients.
2012
Turnover continued to grow and we acquired the Signet Group as new blue-chip clients. We were able to grow with Chipotle, as they expanded into London and mainland Europe. With demands ever-growing on storage and distribution space, as well as our veneering and machine capability, we acquired a further 10,000ft² of adjacent space.
2013
We found ourselves increasingly in demand in the corporate fitout sector and won two major museum projects in Coventry and Lincoln.
2014
Another record year for Realm Projects, as our turnover moved past £10m for the first time. The Signet Group rolled out new concept stores for their H.Samuel brand.
2015
Another landmark year with our biggest project to date – a £3.3m contract with Coventry Transport Museum, successfully completed.
2016
Anticipating continued growth, we doubled our office capacity. We completed our latest museum project with the award-winning Design Museum London.
2017
National Maritime Museum award us a £3.3m project for the Endeavour Galleries, the UK’s largest and most prestigious museum contract of the year.
2018
The re-furbished Members Room at the V&A won the RIBA 2018 Award. The Design Museum won Museum of the Year 2018.
2019
The spectacular and award winning Endeavour Galleries are opened by Sir David Attenborough
2020
Pandemic disruption affected our business like many others but we still delivered some beautiful interiors
2021
